WINDERMERE Golf Club's Adam Chapman has been chosen to represent England Golf in their Australian tour.

One of four players from the England elite squad to be selected, Chapman will be heading Down Under on New Years Day to take part in a series of competitions, which start on January 6.

The ‘Master of the Amateurs’ will run from January 6-9; the ‘Australian Amateur’ runs from January 12-17, the ‘Lake Macquarie’ competition takes place from January 21-24 and the final competition is in New South Wales.

In total, Chapman will spend five weeks in the country.

Having retained his North of England title at Pannal Golf Club in Yorkshire only last month and currently in Portugal undertaking winter training in preparation, Chapman is feeling confident ahead of the event:

“I’m absolutely over the moon at having been selected for the Australian tour and can’t wait to visit Australia – a country I haven’t visited before.” he said.

“I’ve been training particularly hard over recent months and practising more beneficially has seen real improvements to my game.”

Windermere Golf Club chairman Cliff Heath said: “We all think of Adam as an ambassador for Windermere Golf Club and we will do everything we can to support him in his career. Once again, we’ll all be supporting him – this time, from the other side of the world."
