SWIMMING: Alex Tallon comes away from Blackpool with four medals
A 12 strong squad of Kendal swimmers paid a visit to this year's Blackpool Lights gala held in the Palatine pool and came away with four medals Alex Tallon, 11, set himself a daunting task taking on big guns Jacob Whitehead and Ben Rogerson in the 200m butterfly where he took gold.
He then turned his attention to the 200m freestyle where he gave a superb display of turns and transitions and stormed into the finish to take the silver medal.
Freestyle specialist Rosemary Swallow took the gold in the 200m freestyle and Sophie Gibson took bronze in 50m freestyle.
Elliot Woodburn won with a fair degree of ease in the 200m freestyle.
