A STATEMENT on Kendal Town FC's website says the club will meet with a consortium of potential investors in the New Year.

Acting Chairman George Gudgeon said he wants to see a 'proper business plan' alongside a plan that he is putting together himself - both will be considered by the management committee before a recommendation is put to the members.

The statement reads: "I’ve already invited the consortium to meet and I want them to put together a detailed written proposal of what they want to do to take the club forward.

"No formal approach has been received by me, although a lot has been said.

"We want to see a proper business plan. We will meet with the consortium in the New Year to discuss what they have presented.

"I am also putting together a plan.

"These will then be considered by the management committee before making a recommendation to the members."

Mr Gudgeon went on to refer to former chairman Haydon Munslow as being 'naive' by offering members the chance to view the club's accounts upon request, saying that 'this isn't required'.

The Mintcakes are due to play Radcliffe Borough today (Monday, December 28) at home.

Kick off is at 3pm.
