PENRITH Golf Club has become the first golf club in the north of England to win the prestigious EnglandGolf’s 2016 GolfMark Club of the Year Award.
The club's secretary/manager is Beetham’s Dennis Wright, whose family owned the Wheatsheaf Hotel at Beetham from 1961 to 1997.
The award was presented at a Gala Dinner at Hinkley Island Resort hosted by Sky Sports Di Dougherty.
This award, now in its eighth year, recognises GolfMark Clubs which have made an outstanding contribution to developing the game.
