Kendal Town crashed to a 3-1 defeat to Brighouse Town as they succumbed to three second half goals.

Alex Newby fired the Mintcakes in front on seventeen minutes, but a second half brace by Tom Robinson and an Ernest Boafo header completed the comeback for the visitors.

The Mintcakes made a confident start to the game and played some good football as Brighouse’s backline was put to the test. Leon Gierke shot just wide of the post as Town fired an early warning for the visitors.

Kendal's good start paid dividends when Newby slotted the ball past the goalkeeper after the Barrow Loanee got onto the end of a fine attacking move.

After The Mintcakes went 1-0 ahead, Gierke almost made it two when he went clean through, but he shot straight at the goalkeeper.
