Killington Sailing Association embraced the RYA's Push the Boat Out national week to encourage sailing with an open day for Sea Scouts, an evening for Sedbergh Scouts and Cubs and an evening for Beavers and Explorer Scouts.

In addition Sunday was a full Open Day held in beautiful conditions.

In total, more than 100 people were given the chance to have a taste of sailing, many for the first time.

Four young sailors from the club travelled to Scotland on Saturday to take part in Round 3 of the Lakeland and Border Laser Grand Prix series, held at St Mary's Loch.

Beautiful St Mary's SC delivered demanding conditions with the majority of the fleet retiring through fatigue or breakages.

Ian Fitzgerald from Port Edgar YC won followed by grand master David Martin, of Berwick on Tweed SC. In third and the first was Chay Turner-Richard from Killington and Sedbergh School.
