Netherfield's reign as Twenty-20 champions came to an end after they lost by seven wickets to Morecambe in the semi finals of Twenty-20 Finals Day, which was hosted by Fleetwood Cricket Club.

Ben Barrow's team,found it difficult on a tough wicket, as The Field closed the first innings on a score of 109-8 after previously being in a good position at 53-2, while both Edward Read and Jake Smith claimed three wickets apiece.

Morecambe knocked the runs off in 15.5 overs as they closed on 111-3. Gareth Pedder top scored with 49, while Saeed Anwar Junior closed with an undefeated knock of 41.

Netherfield made a slow start after electing to bat, as Brad Earl was dismissed for 14 off 17 balls after he picked out Josh Dixon off the bowling of Edward Read.

However Ben Barrow and Tom Bruce accelerated the score with Netherfield in a strong position as they raced t0 53.

However, Morecambe broke the key Netherfield partnership after Barrow was bowled for 21 off 22 balls by Jake Smith.

Smith ripped through as he claimed two more wickets as both Tom Bruce and Daniel Ingham were dismissed and Netherfield found themselves in trouble on 89-4 while Jake Smith closed on figures of 3-23.

Netherfield continued to lose wickets as John Huck picked out Josh Dixon off the bowling of Ikram Ullah, before Nathan Dixon and Lewis Richardson went in quick succession, with Dixon dismissed by Saeed Anwar Junior, while Richardson was bowled by Edward Read.

Edward Read claimed figures of 3-24 after Mark Clarkson became the latest victim as Netherfield closed on 109-8 off 20 overs.

With a low score to defend, Netherfield made a good start after Josh Dixon was bowled for 5 by Mark Clarkson. However, Gareth Pedder steadied the innings as he and Edward Read guided Morecambe onto 52-2.

Netherfield continued to battle as Lewis Richardson trapped Edward Read for LBW. However both Gareth Pedder and Morecambe Professional Saeed Anwar Junior put in a clinical batting performance as Netherfield's bowlers toiled, while Morecambe raced along to 102.

Joel Bibby dismissed Gareth Pedder for a top score of 49 off 44 balls after his big shot was caught by Ben Barrow.

However, Saeed Anwar closed the game out as he guided Morecambe to the final with an undefeated knock of 41 off 26 balls, as The Seasiders closed on 111-3 off 15.5 overs.

Fleetwood won the Twenty-20 finals after they defeated Morecambe by 53 runs. Fleetwood were bowled out for 93, with Morecambe all out for 40.
