A WEST Lancashire Football League was abandoned yesterday after a player suffered what looked to be a serious injury.
Milnthorpe Corinthians goalkeeper Chelton Gravesande took a heavy blow following a collision with a Wyre Villa forward.
The division one match was called off with Corinthians 2-1 down as Gravesande was taken to Lancaster Royal Infirmary.
A post on the club's Facebook page revealed the 'keeper had suffered badly bruised ribs and been discharged from hospital.
The abandoned fixture is to be rearranged.
