WEST Lancashire Premier Division side Crooklands Casuals got their first win of the season on Tuesday as they overcame a Vickerstown side to move up to ninth in the table.

A Dave Mansergh brace and a David Goude strike were enough to give them the points in a 3-1 win.

The midweek victory was a an improvement on their weekend showing where a Mike Hargreaves goal had earned them a point in a 1-1 draw at Lockstock St Gerards.

Milnthorpe Corinthians are still searching for their first points of the season after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Haslingden St Marys.

Last Wednesday night's fixture against Wyre Villa was abandoned when Corinthians' goalkeeper Chelton Gravesande took a heavy blow following a collision with a forward.

The match was called off with Corinthians 2-1 down as Gravesande was taken to Lancaster Royal Infirmary.

A post on the club's Facebook page revealed the 'keeper had suffered badly bruised ribs and been discharged from hospital.

The abandoned fixture is to be rearranged.

Division One outfit GSK Ulverston Rangers endured a week to forget with back-to-back defeats.

Saturday's 4-1 loss to Poulton was followed up with a 3-0 defeat at home to Hawcoat Park.

Rangers sit one place above bottom club Dalton United who continued their losing streak with a 4-0 defeat to Askam United on Tuesday. Jordan Rayner (two), Callum Rayner, and Kris McLean scored the goals for Askam, who came into the tie on the back a 3-1 victory at Burscough on Saturday.

Kendal County battled to a hard fought 1-0 home win over Garstang Reserves on Monday night in Division Two as the Claret and Blues had to dig deep for the win against a hard working Garstang side that had made a bad start to the season.

County, who lost to Leyland at the weekend, made a nervous start to the game after Garstang created the first opening when Kyle Lewis fired wide of the left hand post. The visitors were awarded a penalty with five minutes to go before the break when Dan Ferguson was adjudged to have brought down one of the Garstang attackers.

However David Jack stepped up and blazed the ball over the bar as both sides went in all square at half time.

Kendal made the breakthrough midway through the second when the referee pointed to the penalty spot after one of the Garstang players was adjudged to have brought down one of the County players. Matthew Clarke converted the spot kick into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Kendal held onto their lead to pick up the three points.

Fellow Division Two side Swarthmoor were 2-0 victors against Burscough reserves on Saturday, but followed that up with a 3-1 loss at Millom on Monday evening.
