THE second round of the Senior Challenge Cup saw plenty of goals scored on a dramatic Saturday afternoon of football.

At the Jubilee Playing Fields West Lancashire League Division Two side Kendal County progressed into the next round of the competition after a comfortable 3-0 win at Westmorland League Division One side Ibis.

In a competitive first half, Dan Ferguson's close range header gave Kendal County an early 1-0 lead. However Ibis had two good chances to equalise through Darren Nightingale who was denied by Ryan Dodds in the Kendal goal.

Kendal pulled away from Ibis in the second half after Brody Wallace Moffatt scored from close range before Moffatt made it 3-0 after he chipped the keeper from distance.

Nightingale also missed a penalty for the hosts as Dodds made a good save. Kendal had further opportunities and closed the game out in emphatic fashion.

In the other games Keswick progressed into the next round after a hard fought 3-1 win over Endmoor KGR at Fitz Park.

Endmoor from Westmorland League Division Two were drawing 1-1 for seventy minutes after Connor Crawshaw scored.

However goals by Declan Robinson, Chris Rowley and Steve Hindmarch saw Keswick through into the next round of the competition.

Braces by Brandon Croskell-Robinson, Bailey Kenny, Shaun Sorrenson and Danny Craig powered Kendal United into the next round after they routed Langwathby United 10-1. James Pattison and Matty Craig were also on the score sheet.

Appleby picked up a comfortable 3-0 win over Ambleside United. Jordan Crawford, Daniel Robinson and Liam Kinnear with the goals.

Wetheriggs United defeated Coniston 3-2, Niall Renwick with a brace and Ben Pool also on target as the Riggs progressed.

In Westmorland League Division One, Shaun Gardner’s hat trick helped Sedbergh Wanderers to a 5-3 home win over Pirelli. Olli Wales also scored as the Wanderers moved up to third place in the table.

Shap remained undefeated in Division Two after a comfortable 3-0 home win over Kendal United Reserves. Luke Fraser scored twice while Jordan Palmer was also on target as Shap moved up to second place in the table.

Eden Thistle picked up a 3-1 win over league leaders Wetheriggs United Reserves, Staveley United defeated Keswick Reserves 2-0, Windermere Reserves saw off Braithwaite 4-1, while Dent won by the same score with victory at Ullswater United.

Ambleside Town routed Penrith Town 6-0 in Division Three, Penrith Academy edged Burneside Reserves 2-1, while Kirkoswald Reserves collected their first win of the season after a comfortable 4-1 win at Penrith Saints.
