KENDAL Squash Club's B and C Teams suffered mixed fortunes in the latest round of League games.

The B Team climbed up to fourth in the league after they defeated Wigton 4-1.

In the first game Ben Welton made a welcome return to team squash with a comfortable 3-0 win over Wigton's Adam Gill.

Welton was on top form after he comfortably played winning shots from all areas of the court as he picked up a 15-2,15-13, and 15-5 victory.

In the second game Kendal's Steve Couper crashed to a narrow defeat to Rachel Kennon in this five set thriller.

Couper raced into a two set lead however the game changed in the third set after Kennon's forehand accuracy made the difference as she snatched the set 17-15, before securing the last two sets 15-13 and 15-7 to complete the comeback

Kendal responded in the third game as the number three seeds went head to head as Ben Cook faced former Kendal Captain and drop shot maestro Guy Huxtable.

It was a game with long high quality rallies, however Cook pressed ahead in the fourth set after he moved further forward before he secured a 3 sets to 1 win as Kendal raced further ahead in the points.

In the fifth game Kendal's Ian Garnett collected a comfortable 3 sets to 0 win over Martin Cockcroft as he claimed the first and second sets 15-7, before winning the third set 15-10 to secure victory

With Kendal’s victory already secured, the number two seeds were last on court as Andy Chant faced Wigton youngster, George Kemp.

Despite the advantage of age on his side, the tall fit youngster was no match for Andy’s experience as Chant picked up a straight sets win.

However an injury ravaged C Team crashed to defeat after they lost to Carlisle
