A beautiful day with full sunshine welcomed runners to South Lakeland, in what proved to be a success for many at the Hoad Hill Harriers Christmas Pudding 10k.
Prizes were given for the first five in male and female categories, and 1st and 2nd in all vet categories.
The day’s events kicked off with the one mile fun run with 74 participants, around the perimeter of the sports field.
First home was Olesia Winder for Leven Valley with an incredible finishing sprint to record a time of 5 minutes 46 seconds, just ahead of Finley Corkhill, Jakob Nelson also of Leven Valley and Justin Corbishley of GHHH.
For the 10km race, 302 competitors contested this very popular race held at the sports club at GSK in Ulverston, with over 30 of the runners running their first ever 10km.
35 Harriers supported the organising and marshalling of the event with a further 23 club members taking part.
First male home and race winner was Ross Campbell representing Barrow and Furness Striders in a time of 33:16. 2nd was James Buis of Border Harriers, in 34:11, and 3rd was Russell Maddams of Keswick AC in 34:19.
The leading lady was Nadia Shaw (26th) from Cumberland in a time of 39:46, followed by the first Hoad Hill lady Amy Whelan (33rd) in 40:33, with 3rd Lady, Sharon Dixon of Hoad Hill (36th) in 40:46,
