KENDAL won their third consecutive game after a dominant seven wicket victory against third placed Croston at Shap Road.

Kuldeep Singh picked up first innings figures of 4-35 as Croston were all out for 133 off 40.3 overs, before Edward Prices undefeated knock of 57 off 69 balls saw Kendal close on 134-3 off 24.2 overs.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Croston had initially made a positive start when Adam Sexton and Stephen Langton posted a first wicket stand of 28.

However Kendal broke the partnership when Sexton picked out Ben Phillips off the bowling of Matthew Park.

Once the opening batsman had been dismissed Kendal dominated the innings when Kuldeep Singh trapped Stephen Langton LBW, before Croston collapsed onto 77-6 when Miller picked up the wicket of Lee Childs while Saeed Bariwala saw off both Ian Dickinson and Callum McIveen who was caught by Phillips.

Kendal applied further pressure on the visitors when Miller bowled Lewis Bland for 8, before Kuldeep Singh finished up with figures of 4-35 after the opening bowler claimed the wickets of Jack Marsh, Jonathan Driver and Keith Marsh as Croston were all out for 133 off 40.3 overs.

In reply, Kendal lost the early wicket of Saeed Bariwala who was caught by Lee Childs off the bowling Sam Marsh.

Lachlan Stewart and Edward Price posted a dominant second wicket stand of 44 as Kendal raced onto 70.

However Kendal lost two quick wickets when Stewart picked out Sam Marsh off the bowling of Lee Childs, before Ben Phillips was trapped LBW by Callum McIveen.

Kendal raced to victory, after Price closed undefeated on 57 off 69 balls while Terry Hunte rolled back the years with an undefeated knock of 17 off 11 as Kendal closed on 134-3 off 24.2 overs.

Kendal are now in sixth in the Palace Shield Premier Division and 30 points behind the second automatic promotion place currently occupied by Lancaster.

The Auld Greys travel to New Longton on Saturday, looking to close in on the top places.

They are away to Longridge on Sunday in the semi finals of The Meyler Cup.
