Rugby - Kendal retain 100 per cent record

Kendal 44, Darlington 8.

Six tries were run in as North Division One leaders Kendal strolled to victory over second bottom club Darlington, but again spectators at Mint Bridge were left with the feeling that the home side should have doubled their points tally.

Kendal, who have now won all four of their league matches so far were clearly a class or two above the visitors, but numerous small errors and infringements wasted another half-dozen scoring opportunities.

Winger John Ladell touched down twice and fly-half Dan Stephens, who also made an immense contribute by kicking four penalties and a conversion, also crossed the whitewash.

Second row pair Liam Hayton and Gareth Gore, plus prop Billy Coxon were the try scorers on behalf of the forwards.
