Westoe 21, Kendal 35.
KENDAL made it nine wins in a row as they continued their unbeaten start in North Division One with a convincing victory over third-placed Westoe.
Last season Kendal were comprehensively beaten when they visited the the South Shields-based side, but this time round the Black and Ambers are a much stronger side in all departments and are now strong favourites for automatic promotion to national level rugby.
Tries by scrum half James Gough, winger John Ladell and flankers Andrew Hudson and Nick Mckain(2), plus two penalties and two conversion by stand-off Dan Stephens sewed up the points for Kendal.
They are two points clear of Huddersfield, who visit Mint Bridge next Saturday, in the second round of the EDF National Trophy.
In the league Kendal enjoyed a narrow victory at Huddersfield and the cup match promises to be a mid-November thriller.
