THE absence of ante-post favourite Don't Push It from the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham this afternoon (Saturday), leaves Yorkshire trainer Ferdy Murphy with a strong hand in this prestigious race.

At first glance L'Antartique, an easy winner at Carlisle on his return recently, looks to be the one to beat, especially as he comes off the pace in his races and is very difficult to handicap.

However, stablemate Three Mirrors is reckoned to be capable of landing a big prize this season and with only 10st 2lb on his back he may be the each-way value of the race.

Lightly-raced and not given a hard time when fourth in a warm-up race, the West Witton dark horse is one to follow whatever happens today.

Franchoek looks to have a favourite's chance in the 2.00pm juvenile novice hurdle with Alan King's charge well clear on the formbook.
