Kendal 48, Altrincham Kersal 5.

IT took Kendal over 30 minutes to open up the brave defence of next to bottom Altrincham, then the floodgates burst as the undefeated leaders of North Division One ran in eight tries, four of them in a ten minute second half burst.

Before the break a bullish run by Andrew Hudson and a typical speed burst from winger John Ladell had given Kendal a 12-0 lead.

Despite playing into the wind during the second half Kendal then took control, Hudson scoring his second try before the purple passage between the 60th and 70th minutes when Lohn Ladell completed his hat-trick, brother Luke racing in on the other wing and No. 8 Mark Wilson as rewarded for some outstanding play by scoring his first try for the senior side.

A rare defensive lapse allowed Altrincham to score wide out on the right, but John Ladell rounded off the comprehensive victory with his fourth try.

On an afternoon not conducive to accurate kicking fly-half Dan Stephens converted three tries and Hoani Moore one.
