Otley 29, Kendal 9.
Kendal put on a brave show at rain-lashed Otley, but it was not quite enough against the all round skills of the side from two leagues above them.
Two push-over tries, one converted, in the first 20 minutes gave Otley a 12-0 lead and it looked as if they would run away with this third round EDF National Cup tie, but spirited Kendal regrouped and frequently looked more threatening only to the stymied by frequent dropped ball, hardly surprising in the atrocious conditions.
A penalty and drop goal by fly-half Dan Stephens gave Kendal hope when they turned round just 12-6 down, but Otley ran in a try from close range and the conversion took them to 19-6 before Stephens slotted over a penalty when Otley were caught offside.
The National League Two side threw on a few of their plentiful substitutes and scored again for 22-9 then in the final minute broke away for a final, rather flattering, converted try.
