Kendal 24, Penrith 0.
Three tries in the first 18 minutes brought a promise of romp in the sun for Story Cumbria cup holders Kendal, but as the weather deteriorated from Spring sunshine to wintery hail the rugby also took turn for the worse and it was not until the final minute that Kendal could cross the line again.
It was, however, a convincing win over a stubborn Penrith side. Dan Stephens, Luke Ladell and Gary Holmes scoring the early tries and Ladell rounding the match off by touching down at the end of a sweeping backs move, the best of the match.
Stephens converted two of the tries and hit the upright with one shot from close to the touchline.
In the final on April 26 Kendal will play either Aspatria or Kirkby Lonsdale.
