CELEBRATIONS will continue long into the night at Kendal Rugby Club after the first team today (Saturday) completed their unbeaten season in North Division One with a 43-0 drubbing of Sheffield Tigers and, away from home. the Second team won 17-0 at Vale of Lune Seconds to take the Miller Homes League First Division championship.
Kendal Firsts' home finale was a scintillating display of running rugby and solid tackling, led by Kiwi Hoani Moore who ran in four excellent tries.
Flanker Nick McKain, No. 8 Mark Wilson and right winger John Ladell also crossed the Sheffield line while full-back Chris Park slotted over three conversions.
The large crowd which had attended Mint Bridge to hail the champions, flooded on to the pitch after the final whistle to see the league trophy presented to captain Ian Voortman.
