BREATHTAKING views and aching legs await long distance walkers who take part in this year's Barbondale Round Challenge.

It is the third year the 25-mile hike, which starts in Barbon and takes in Crag Hill, Great Coum and Calf Top on Middleton Fell, has been staged.

The closing day for the April 12 event is April 5. Entry forms are available from Judith Preston, 26 The Close, New Longton, Preston PR4 4YP.
