Four girls from Kendal School of Gymnastics recently proved that they could more than hold their own against the North East’s biggest Gymnastics clubs.
Competing in the Regional Novice 4 piece competition at the City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy, Stevie, Alice, Courtney and Paige took on girls from Newcastle and South Durham and came away with their heads held high and reputations greatly enhanced.
On the Beam Stevie, Alice and Courtney all achieved 2nd place scores with Paige just behind in 4th. Overall Courtney came 4th in the senior novice competition, while Alice’s 8th place seems near miraculous considering she competed with two toes strapped together after nearly breaking a toe! Paige and Stevie came competed in the 11 and under competition, with Paige finishing 12th and Stevie –the star of the day- bringing home a well deserved bronze medal.
