KENDAL'S Dean Ellison has vowed to banish his Oulton Park demons this weekend when he returns to the track where he broke his ankle and foot earlier this season.

The 30-year-old was involved in a horror crash at the Cheshire circuit three months ago when he careered into the back of Steve Mercer's stray bike and suffered multiple injuries.

Ellison's season has been affected ever since with the Kendal star lying in 20th position in the British Superbike standings with only seven points to his name.

Now the Co-Ordit Racing Team rider, who battled his way to 14th and 18th last time out at Mallory Park, says his injury woes are well and truly behind him. "Last time I ended up in the back of an ambulance but that will be the last thing on my mind when I get out there," he said.

"I let myself down at the start of race one at Mallory but the bike felt better than ever despite that so I'm confident I can start doing better.

"I've having a lot of support coming down from Kendal so it will be great to get out there and show them what I can do."

Ellison's early season exploits have all but ended his championship charge, but Ellison insists he will not be taking the rest of the season lightly as he aims to make up for lost time at the Cheshire circuit.
