Tomorrow night marks the long awaited highlight of Kendal Town’s pre-season campaign as Premiership giants Sunderland come to the Parkside Road ground.
Sunderland’s visit has been subject to weeks of building excitement, and with kick off only a day away, fans can look forward to brilliant evening’s entertainment.
Sunderland have confirmed a strong squad ahead of tomorrow night’s 7:30pm kick off, with a mixture of first team squad members and up-coming U-21 and U-19 internationals set to put Lee Ashcroft’s men through their paces.
Certain to be making the trip down from the North East is Frenchman Jean Yves M’ Voto, the giant 6ft 4in defender played over 30 times for former club Paris St Germain, and will be looking to make his mark on the first team this season.
Another name to watch out for is young Irish midfielder David Meyer, widely regarded as one of the best young Irish players around, Meyer made only a handful of first-team appearances for his native Cork City before being snapped up by Roy Keane.
Town manager Lee Ashcroft has also raised anticipation among Town fans promising his team won’t roll over and let Sunderland run the tie, “ The Sunderland game is obviously a fantastic occasion for the club, the fans will want an entertaining game and I’ll make sure we do our part to provide a great evening of football.”
Kick off tomorrow (Wednesday) is set for 7:30pm.
