UPPER Eden Boars made a superb start to their Miller Homes League 4 campaign with a thrilling 33-7 victory over Garstang 2s at Pennine Park on Saturday.
Coming back from going an early try down, Boars led 26-7 at half time with tries from right wing Paul Richardson, No. 8 David Birkbeck, fly-half Matt Allinson and left wing Phil Hunter, who also added their only try of the second half. Allinson kicked the conversions.
n Upper Eden’s first XV kick off their Cumbria/north Lancs league season on Saturday at Fleetwood, while the Boars are at home for their next Miller Homes League match.
