KENDAL gave the Leicester Lions a real mauling on their home patch in National League 3 North on Saturday, an impressive 40-12 victory featuring five tries.
Fly-half Dan Stephens set the tone with two penalties to give Kendal an early 6-0 lead and winger Lewis Boyd went over for an unconverted try to make it 11-0 before Lions hit back with a John Boden try, which was also unconverted.
In the second half, further Kendal tries from prop Billy Coxon, flanker Gary Holmes and Boyd extended the gap to 32-5 before lock Gareth Gore supplied a fifth try and Stephens rounded off the scoring with a penalty before Lions scored a Gareth Collins consolation try near the end.
