Tyldesley 34.
Kirkby Lonsdale 12.
PLAYING away for the third successive game, Kirkby started slowly. On five minutes Tyldesley made a good break in midfield and kicked for the winger to chase.
It came to nothing but a late hit on the kicker gave away a penalty that was converted to give the hosts a 3-0 lead.
Tyldesley won a lineout in the Kirkby 22 in the 17th minute that was kicked through for the back row to engineer a converted try and and when a second try followed soon afterwards, a long afternoon looked ahead for the visitors.
Straight from the restart, Tyldesley knocked on and from the scrum, good hands saw Barton score the try, although the conversion drifted wide to leave the score 17-5.
Unforced errors were costing Kirkby, however, and they conceded a scum on their own ten-metre line, from which the home winger scored in the corner to add another five points and leave Kirkby trailing 22-5 at half time.
Kirkby started the second half with a lot of ball but making little impression on the Tyldesley line. Instead the hosts used turnover ball well to score in the corner and an interception during a spell of good Kirkby pressure gave them a try under the posts - 34-5.
Kirkby kept pressing and Cooper-Dunn's strong run ended with the ball dropped over the line as did another good move with the line begging. But with the last move of the match Kirkby got their reward with Konczynski scoring under the posts and Hadwin converting.
