THE SUPERLATIVES box has to be raided again after Kendal cruised into the second round of the EDF Energy Trophy with a a 62-7 tormenting of struggling Halifax.
A big crowd at Mint Bridge were entertained with some superb efforts among the ten tries that kept the scoreboard turning over.
Highlights were some electrifying running by winger Lewis Boyd and a top-drawer move which ended with centre Matt Gracie going over.
Tries in the first half came from Dan Sterphens, Liam Hayton,Duncan Green, Garry Holmes, Zane Butler and Matt Gracie as they led 40-0 at half time.
Halifax scored at the start of the second half with scrum-half Dominic Castle going over, but Kendal regained control for further tries from Boyd, Dan Murray and a brace from Richard Harryman.
Stephens was in good kicking form and gave a fine display of tactical kicking in the first half and in all made six conversions.
Lock-forward Gareth Gore was awarded the man of the match,
