Fencing - James Bond fencing lessons in South Lakes

YOUNG people across Kendal will learn to fence like James Bond with the help of an Awards for All grant. The project is one of four in South Lakeland and 94 in the North West totalling £680,221 in the latest round of awards.

Kendal Fencing Club receives £1,903 to stage a series of training courses and open days for schoolchildren and community groups from now until the end of the year in the Kendal Lads and Girls Club.

Budding fencers will be able to learn the nuances of the Olympic sport made famous in Hollywood movies such as The Three Musketeers and James Bond: Die Another Day, and the group hopes to establish an ongoing junior fencing club.
