WITH both Kendal’s semi-professional teams out on the road with difficult away fixtures over the weekend the region’s local leagues have a chance to grab the spotlight.
Kendal Town travel to take on League leader’s Hednesford Town, who have scored 17 in their last four games and sit top of the Unibond Premier Division with 39 points.
KENDAL Rugby Club also face lofty league opposition tomorrow. The Mint Bridge Club travel to take on second-placed Harrogate in their National League three North fixture.
IN THE Westmorland Football League the lower teams face a difficult weekend of fixtures as they all take on top-placed teams. Bottom of the League Windermere travel to take on third placed Cavetii United.13th placed Shap face an away game at fifth-placed Keswick while third from bottom Greystoke take on fourth-placed Appleby. WINDERMERE have the rare honour of being the only regional Rugby team in action on home turf as they take on North Manchester in their North Lancs 2 fixture. IN THE North Lancs Football League it’s sixth versus seventh as Cartmel and District take on Marsh United. Kirkby Lonsdale will be looking to move back up the table as they take on second bottom Swarthmoor Social club.
