A DRAMATIC 94th-minute goal from Craig Hobson ensured ten-men Kendal snatched all three points from their Boxing Day fixture away at Cammell Laird.
The 3-2 away win for Kendal looked some way off at half time as a sluggish first half performance from the visitors had seen Town slip a goal behind when Eddie Jebb’s drive had put the home side in front on seven minutes.
A bad half got worse for Kendal when Paul Byrne was show a straight red card on the cusp of half-time for a late tackle on Anthony Sheerhan.
The second half looked as if it might follow suit with the home team dictating the early passages of play. However, two goals in as many minutes saw Town stun the home fans as they took a 2-1 lead.
After Alex Taylor had levelled for Town on 54 minutes, Carl Osman got one over his former club, coolly beating the offside trap to finish on 56 minutes.
Laird responded with long-ball football and while Town’s defence were winning everything in the air they failed to properly clear their lines on 81 minutes as the ball fell kindly for Richie Foulkes, who fired into the top corner from outside the area.
With both teams piling forward the game was played out at a quick pace with end-to-end action.
Despite being a man down, it was Town who got the decisive winner with Hobson chipping the ball over the keeper deep into injury time after a mix-up in the home defence had seen a David Newnes clearance go all the way through to to the striker.
