SEDBERGH Wanderers of the Westmorland League went goal crazy at home to Skipton Town in their first-round replay in the Craven Senior Cup.
After drawing 3-3 at Skipton, Sedbergh came out all guns firing to win 9-3 with Chris Wheatley scoring five goals on his return from university for the Christmas break. Elliot Oxley and Elliot Beagan both grabbed two apiece to make up the tally.
Sedbergh's second team beat Barnoldswick 5-1 in the Craven Junior Cup. Sedbergh had their backs to the wall for as they came under an half-an-hour onslaught, but their physical and stronger players eventually took hold of the tie and they outplayed the home side. Striker Bradley Dalzell scored a hat-trick and man of the match John Richardson bagged two as Sedbergh were wishing it was Christmas every week with goals galore.
Defending First Division champions Ambleside United go to play Keswick, while league leaders Wetheriggs host Shap in two first division fixtures scheduled for this Saturday.
