SOUTH Lakeland runners had a magnificent day at the Northenr Cross Country Championships in St Helen on Saturday.
James Knox of Helm Hill Runners won the ,3000m Under-13 boys race by second seconds to take a major junior title.
Meanwhile, established international runners from Kendal AC were at the sharp end of the Senior Ladies 8,000m race.
Coniston's Gemma Miles retained her Northern title, winning by 15 seconds from Hallamshire's Hatti Dean, with Gemma's Kendal team-mates Sarah Tunstall third and Rebecca Robinson seventh.
With Louise Roberts supplying the fourth counter in 88th, Kendal took fourth place in the team awards.
