NETHERFIELD Cricket club professional Callum Ferguson has ben called up into the Australia squad for the Commonwealth Bank series one-day matches against New Zealand.
Netherfield clinched a contract to bring back Ferguson for a second season with the Northern League champions just after Christmas.
It is understood he is likely to get his first international cap in the match. Netherfield's committee-man David Otway, whose role is to help arrange the professional's appointment said: "I spoke to Callum yesterday and he was thrilled at the news.
"He actually said to me that he was just another one off the Netherfield Cricket Club production line to go on and play international cricket.
"Everyone at the club wish him well."
