A HEAVY 5-1 defeat was inflicted upon Lee Ashcroft's Kendal Town by Unibond First Division North leaders Skelmersdale United at Parkside on Saturday.
The Unibond Challenge Cup quarter-final survived the frost, but Town could not turn the heat on when play got under way.
Ashcroft's men found themselves 5-0 down five minutes into the second half, with only an 80th-minute consolation goal coming from Carl Osman's overhead kick.
