NETHERFIELD CC professional Callum Ferguson shared the victory stage with man of the match Mike Hussey to help Australia to a six-wicket series-levelling victory over New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.
Ferguson remained unbeaten on 13, having walked out in front of his home crowd with the fourth match in the Commonwealth Bank One-Day Series about to reach its climax with 5.4 overs to go.
He ensured that the Aussies did not have a collapse to worry about and provided the stability needed as match-winner Hussey went on to make an unbeaten 75, the fifth-wicket pairing carrying Australia to victory with ten balls to spare.
Hussey ended proceedings in style, cracking a six to bring up the winning runs at 247-4 after New Zealand had been restricted to 244-8 off their 50 overs.
In the post-match interviews Hussey complimented intenrational newcomer Ferguson on his coolness, and Australia go into the final match at Brisbane on Friday with everything to play for.
