TWELVE schools contested the Prep Schools’ Cross Country Competition, hosted by Sedbergh School.
This year a challenging new course incorporated log jumps, water crossings and an extra hill climb.
Sedbergh Junior School’s runners put in a fine effort, particularly the U13 boys team, which posted six placings in the top 14 to win with a massive 43-point margin.
Joe Duffield led this team to victory with his second placing behind W. Smith of Giggleswick, followed by Sedbergh's Oliver Thompson in fifth, Toby Randall-Paley in eighth, Felix Hoogendoorn in 12th, Ralph Wellock in 13th and Isaac Mason in 14th.
Other team winners were: U13 girls: Giggleswick; U11boys: Giggleswick; U11 girls: Hunter Hall. Other individual winners were: U11 girls Millie Holder (Hunter Hall); U11 boys S Stuart (Malsis); U13 girls G Burley (Giggleswick);U13 boys W. Smith (Giggleswick).
