Milnthorpe Corinthians….2.

Hawcoat Park……………4.

CORINTHIANS were guilty of wasteful finishing and the absence of key players allowed Hawcoat Park to claim their second win over the Milnthorpe side this season.

Despite being restricted to the counter-attack, it was home side Corinthians who took the lead shortly after half time with brilliant teamwork.

Winning the ball deep in their own half, Cors moved it swiftly downfield through a Aidan Caswell free on the left and his shot gave the keeper no chance.

The lead lasted minutes though as Corinthians gave the ball away on the halfway line and Park’s counter split the defence wide open and a Hawcoat striker rifled the ball home.

The visitors grabbed another minutes later and settled back to defend their lead.

Corinthians attacked desperately and although Adam Towler looked to have secured a late point for the home side scoring from close range, the Cumbria side inexplicably took their foot of the gas and allowed Hawcoat to score two late goals and secure all the points.
