A look ahead to this weekend's sporting action

WITH Kendal Town travelling to West Yorkshire to take on Guiseley in the Unibond Premier League on Saturday afternoon, Kendal’s oval ball team gets a chance to take centre stage as Kendal Rugby Club welcome Leicester Lions to their Mint Bridge Ground this weekend.

Although three places separate the two teams in the National League Three North, with Kendal lying four places above the relegation zone in ninth place and Leicester in sixth spot. A 12-40 away win for Kendal earlier this season over the Lions will surely provide Kendal with the confidence to go into the game knowing they can get a result and move back up the table.

CARLISLE Racecourse hosts Cumbria’s sporting Champions Raceday on Sunday. With plenty of attractions including a chance to meet Carlisle United footballers, Lancashire Cricketing legend Stuart Law, and the Workington Comets Speedway team there is plenty for all the family in addition to a day of jump racing. The course opens at 12 noon and prices are £18 for the Premier Enclosure and £13 for the Grandstand & Paddock.
