KENDAL’s James Ellison aims to be ultra fighting fit for when the British Superbike Championship campaign opens at Brands Hatch on East weekend.
Two visits a day to the gym and a rigorous diet are part of a daily routine aimed at getting him in prime condition by the time he reaches the start line.
As part of the focussed regime, he will underdo fitness tests in London on Monday, he revealed to the offocial BSB website.
And he revealed he cannot wait to get on the new Yamaha.
Ellison has joined current British Superbike champions GSE Racing, which is seeking a record fifth British Superbike title in 2009 with Ellison and team-mate Leon Camier aboard the all-new Yamaha YZF-R1.
He told the BSB website: "We are going to get out testing soon and I can't wait.
“I have heard so many positive things about the new Yamaha that I just want to get out there and ride it!
“ I already have all my new kit as I went and picked up my new leathers from Italy a few weeks' ago.
“I came back from Texas and as soon as I landed I was pretty much on a plane back out to the Teknic factory to be measured.
“ They made them overnight so I had them for the next day which was pretty impressive.”
"My kit bag is all packed and I am ready, it is just a matter of time before we get going now."
