KENDAL Town are in a great position following their win on Tuesday night, while the arrival of ex Morecambe player Kieran Warmsley is another class addition to Kendal’s squad says Town boss Lee Ashcroft:
“ I’ve know Kieran for a long time, he’s a fantastic player who has not long been out of League football with Morecambe, he can play in a number of positions across the park but his preferred position is right-back.
We’ve had quite a lot of people play at right back this season and they’ve done really well, but at this stage of the season we’re pushing for the play offs and he comes with great experience and a great pedigree so it’s a massive signing for us who’ll hopefully do a very good job for Kendal.
We’ve nine games of the season left - we’ve nine games to get into the play-offs so every game is a big one for us now.
Last Saturday’s result at Guiseley was a disappointment, particularly with the manner in which they scored their second (Guiseley scored from a corner that several Town players believed to have gone out).
I think we’ve a honest bunch of lads in this team and when five or six are saying they saw the ball was out you tend to believe them, but there’s nothing we can do.
We’re looking good points wise, and if we can pick up on average two points from the rest of our games we won’t be far off so it’s a nice position to be in.
I’m really pleased with the squad at the moment. There’s real competition for places, Warren has come in and been a class act and Fozzie’s movement and build-up play has been great for us.
When everyone in the team is playing well it means I don’t have to rush the likes of Carl Osman, Lee Mulvaney and Paul Byrne back, which can only be a good thing with games against promotion rivals coming up.
