YOUNG Ambleside footballer Oliver Mathison, seven, has made it to the regional final of Soccer Idols - a talent search for potential Premiership stars.
Tomorrow (Saturday), he will join 127 young players aged five to 16 from all over the North West at Blackburn Rovers’ Academy.
The club’s coaches and scouts will keep a close eye on the youngsters to see which 20 get to escort the players on to a match day pitch at Ewood Park.
More than 1,000 boys and girls have taken part in the competition, sponsored by new soft drink H2, from Lancashire-based makers Macaw.
Oliver has already won tickets to a Rovers’ home game for reaching the final.
