KENDAL Town’s squad is the strongest it’s been all season, even with Osman’s injury, says manager Lee Ashcroft.
He said “It is obviously a huge blow for us losing Ossy for the season – he would have started on Saturday against Eastwood, with Warren going back to Fleetwood.
“But we’ve been in great form recently and we need to concentrate on continuing that and hope Ossy makes a full recovery.
“We’ve now got the best squad I’ve had here by a long way. I’m not one for bring in huge numbers of players. It’s my job to improve the team and the squad and I’ve tried really hard to do that by only bringing in real quality.
“I think the fact we’ve already surpassed last year’s total points reflects that - as does our league position.
“It feels great to be back in the play-off spots.
We’re not taking anything for granted, but we’ve gone on a great run, winning six of our last seven games.
“I think we’ve surprised a lot of people just by getting here and if we can continue this form we’ll be thereabouts at the end of the season in the promotion stakes. “We’ve a massive game this weekend against the league leaders.
“I know Guiseley knocked three past Eastwood in the midweek game, so they’ll be looking to bounce back from that result. But they have had a little wobble recently and hopefully we can go there and get a decent result.”
