A POWER-packed four minutes midway through the first half effectively snuffed out the challenge of Kendal on their visit to Loughborough Students in National League 3 North on Saturday.
Although Kendal made a positive start with some good pick and drives, three tries went in during a criticial period midway through the first period as Burgess, Pitfield and Bird all went over.
Two conversions from Allan meant the Students were 19-0 ahead at half time.
A try a minute into the second half served to dull Kendal's appetite for a comeback as Stewart flew in from 30 metres out for the bonus-point score.
Kendal did not stint in their application but they found the Students well organised on defence as they had been on attack, and were reduced to accepting a consolation try, with No. 8 Craig Wilson forcing his way over.
The Students responded with another try from Pitfield as he broke through a couple of tackles to seal an impressive victory with his side's fifth try.
