Ashy's Angle - Our record on big results is good

Should Town make it into the play-offs, they’ve no one to fear, says Kendal manager Lee Ashcroft.

"We’ve been up against it several times this season and each time we’ve needed a big result it has come, and it has come more often than not against a big team.

"We beat Hednesford 4-1 after a really poor run of results and earlier on in the season we hit five past Bradford Park Avenue, so on our day we can beat anyone in this division.

"If we can get ourselves into the play-offs I really don’t have any preference as to who we get drawn against as we’ve proven we can beat the best.

"While we might not have the budget of the teams around us what we’ve proved time and time again is that we have a magnificent team spirit and we’ll keep battling for each other.

"It seems the last few games have come round very quickly; it doesn’t seem five minutes since we had a dozen games left.

"But we’ve done very well over the course of those games, we’ve picked up a lot of points and we’ve put ourselves in a position where our fate is in our hands.

"The lads are in very good spirits they’re looking forward to each game and they’re keen to do well for the club and each other, and whatever happens this season I think they’ve achieved that.

"We’ve got our fingers crossed Carl Osman might make a surprise comeback before the end of the season.

Carl has been recovering from his hamstring injury very well and has been down at Everton - where his brother Leon plays - receiving treatment.

"I’m hoping the team at Everton can work their magic and we might have Ossy back in time for that massive game in Bradford."
