NETHERFIELD skipper Chris Parry hit a half-century and Stuart Nixon took a man of the match winning 4-14 as the Parkside Road team recorded a 63-run victory over Barrow in the 2008 Cumbria Cup final on Sunday.
In a low-scoring final, played for the Meageen Trophy, at Penrith CC, Netherfield batted first and made 130 when all out in the 39th of the scheduled 40-over match.
Leading the way was Parry (51),while Rishi Girdhari, batting at No. 6, was Netherfield's next highest scorer with 19 as he shared a fifth-wicket stand of 46 with his skipper who had opened the innings.
Barrow's Darryl Wearing took 3-31 and Ray Mowat 3-37.
Barrow were 12-2 after seven overs and it became a procession thereafter as they slumped to 67 all out in the 32.2 overs.
In addition to Nixon's effort, Ryan Wilson took 3-21 and Marc Hadwin 2-3.
Netherfield were without a professional as sub professional Alex Roberts had to give back-word because of injury.
