KENDAL Town will be hoping to create history tonight as Lee Ashscroft’s side take on Ilkeston for a place in the Unibond Premier League play-off final.
Town booked their place in tonight’s play-off semi- final with a dramatic 3-2 home victory over Buxton on the last day of the season last Saturday.
Town’s winner came from Danny Wisdom in the 89th minute after earlier strikes from Alex Taylor and Tony Hallam has been cancelled out, and Kendal fans will doubtless be hoping for the same never-say-die attitude into tonight’s game against tough opposition.
Ilkeston finished second in the Unibond Premier this season, having lost only six games all season. But in both their league encounters with Town, the Derbyshire side were held to a 1-1 draw making tonight’s encounter to close to call.
Kick-off at Ilkeston’s New Manor ground is at 7.45pm.
