KENDAL Seconds kept their place as Second Division leaders in the FBS Northern Premier League with two-wicket win over Fleetwood on Saturday.
The Shap Road men hold a six-point lead over Morecambe, with Lancaster a further point away in third.
A 12-point win came after Fleetwood slipped from 40-1 to 50-5 before they were dismissed for 86, of which A. Laird made 17, with still four of a rain-reduced 35 overs left.
Bowling honours went to S. Nelson (3-27), A. Dugdale (3-25) and A. Potts (3-14).
Kendal survived a nervous finish in reply. Three wickets fell for two runsbefore they passed the target at 87-8 in 36.2 overs - using some of the unused overs their opponents yielded to them.
M. Phillips led the way with 27 with N. Philips (17) before W. Zaman and A. Potts steered Kendal home.
Wivcket-takers for Fleetwood were N. Gregson (4-30) and S. Uttley (3-22).
Netherfield Seconds had the benefit of Stuart Nixon’s bowling away atCarnforth Seconds and his first-team experience showed with a fine return of 7-41.
Carnforth were restricted to 85-7 off 25 overs and it would have been fewer but for an unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 40 between Banes (16) and Bradley (24).
Netherfield had a fifth-wicket stand between Shane Dixon (29) and Dan Davidson (15) to thank for putting them on course as they won at 91-8 inwith five balls to spare.
