KENDAL’S Director of Rugby Chris Hayton offers his weekly view:.
‘There was definitely an end of season feel about Saturday's visit to "Bees" and the score try-fest was reminiscent of one of the old Barbarians matches which used to take place every Easter.
Thirty-four points in each half and Lewis Boyd grabbing himself a hat trick again! This moves him now into second place in the try-scorers’ table with one match to play.
The end of season also sees the selection by the players of their player of the season and Lewis received the votes and cup at the dinner on Saturday.
Andrew Quarry received the second team player of the year at the same time.
Interestingly, the Premiership Young Player of the Year went to Jordan Turner-Hall of Harlequins,whose grandfather, the late Malcolm Turner was captain at Kendal during the 1957-58 season, and whose grandmother still lives in town.
This week the last match features the visit of Huddersfield, so we are sure of a tight finish to the season.
The Johnson brothers, Chris and Mark, will drive their side and will kick any penalty within 50 metres of the posts, so discipline will have to be tight right to the end. If Lewis can bag a brace against Huddersfield, he will fully deserve to be top try-scorer in the league. Let's see! "
