CUMBRIA travel to Leicestershire on Saturday in the InterCounty Shield competition, hoping for a win at Vipers RFC to wrap up a season that has contained plenty of positives despite two defeats.
"Considering many of the Cheshire players operate at two and three levels higher than our lads, I thought we played very creditably," says spokesmen Kevin Johnston.
"Cheshire were the better side because of the quality of players they have, but our boys gave 100 per cent.
"Unfortunately we've quite a few lads missing for Saturday's game, but we've got a quality young side and really they've excelled and adapted very well to the situation."
